Yes, it is.
I have decided to kill the name nurenxintan for now. Why? Well, I am sick of explaining it. That is the bottom line. I have to explain it to everyone - English speakers and Mandarin speakers. And I feel like I shouldn’t have to explain it to Mandarin speakers. If they are confused, there is a problem. I thought it’d be a neat play on characters and my teacher agreed, but we are the only ones who get it. So I guess the translation didn’t really work out as I had hoped it would. It seems like I spend more time explaining what the words mean than people spending looking at my blog or at my photographs. And since I already use my real name as the web address for this site, I figured I might as well match it to the title of the blog. It is more consistent and that is important, right? It may be boring, but consistency is good. For those of you who use nurenxintan to link here, it’d be best if you would change your bookmarks, deli.cio.us and links for future use. But, I will not be getting totally rid of it ever. Just in case. Plus, I like to hoard domain names. They are cheap!
In the upcoming months, probably after we leave China (July 29) and I have full acess to my own website again, I will be redoing this website. I’ve never been totally thrilled with the layout, colors and buttons. If anyone has suggestions for the design aspect or for a new domain name and title for this website, I eagerly welcome them. Moving back to the United States is a good enough reason to do create Jenn v2.0, isn’t it?
